10 simple ways to grow your email marketing list

We know how important email marketing is for our businesses but how do we build our audience? Here are 10 simple ways you can grow your email mailing list.

 
 
 

  • Host a giveaway - share on your social media and encourage your followers to join

  • Add a sign up link to your email signature - this can be helpful for people you are already in contact with

  • Ask people! This could be something you add in once a month to your marketing plan

  • Create engaging content - if you know it’s interesting, you’ll be more confident to share about your list

  • Share previews on your socials - drop hints of what people are missing out on by not being on that list!

  • Make sure there is a sign up link easily available on your social media - you could use something like link tree if you want links to other things too.

  • Ask existing customers - you can’t add people without their consent but you can be bold and ask people you are currently working or have previously worked with.

  • Give people an incentive! Send a 10% off code in your welcome email as a thank you for signing up

  • Use your current content (and reuse!) add the sign up to the bottom of blog posts, if they’ve enjoyed your blog, they are likely to enjoy your emails. You could also use blog posts as newsletter ideas.

  • Have an in-person event coming up? Create a QR code and display in on your table - you can get these printed on plaques (you could get these from Etsy), your customers can scan the QR code and add their details there and then.
