how can i finance my diploma course?
Have you been thinking about enrolling on one of our Diploma courses but money issues are getting in the way? Here is a new way to look at your finances
If money is a stumbling block for you then I get it. But I would like you to reflect for yourself - is it that you can’t afford it or that you don’t think you are worth the investment? Sometimes we think our decisions are about one thing but it turns out that if we dig a little deeper there’s something else at the heart of the issue.
When we want to do something new, imposter syndrome appears to ask you who you think you are, what you think you’re doing and why you think you’re worth it.
If you’re struggling with imposter syndrome then I want to congratulate you! You are trying to do something that you don’t normally do. How do I know that? It’s only when we are looking at growing that imposter syndrome kicks in. So don’t stop now. Don’t retreat back to your comfort zone because there is no growth there, there is only regret that you didn’t do what you knew you wanted to in your heart.
So ask yourself, is it about the money or is it that I don’t feel worthy?
I do understand that sometimes we really just don’t have the money to invest in ourselves and our development. But, every time we want to get to the next level we need to invest - our time, our energy and our money. Unfortunately it has to be that way around - take the action first with a commitment to finding your way. Let’s see if there’s a way that you can do just that.
An investment in you
Can you see the Diploma course as an investment in you? Can you back yourself? Where will you be in a year’s time if you fully commit to learning new skills?
Real growth comes after we invest in ourselves but unfortunately, we often wait to feel ‘worthy’ and ‘worthwhile’. I can tell you now that you are both worthy and worthwhile. I believe in you. And if you don’t believe in yourself yet, can you pretend that you do for now? Can you imagine what your life could look like if you take this path?
make it manageable
Our Diploma in Silver Jewellery and Diploma in Fine Jewellery costs £167 per month over 18 months. So my question to you is:
HOW CAN YOU MAKE AN EXTRA £167 PER MONTH?
Write down 10 ways you can do that. The human brain is infinitely creative and as a jeweller, I bet yours is more creative than most. If you focus on looking for a solution rather than looking at the problem your brain will do its job and come up with ideas.
Here’s one idea for you. If you already make jewellery - whether it’s beaded, metal clay, polymer clay, silver, gold etc - how much would you need to sell each month to cover the cost of investing in yourself?
Let’s break it down per month. You could sell:
Two pieces of jewellery at £83.50 each
Four pieces of jewellery at £41.75 each
Ten pieces of jewellery at £16.70 each
(And yes, you do need to take the cost of your materials into account so you need to do the calculations with that in mind)
who can i sell to?
If you are new to selling your jewellery you may be thinking, well that sounds great but I don’t have time to set up a business.
The secret is that for every successful jeweller, their first 100 sales come from their own network. The key is asking your friends and family and their networks. If you tell 10 people and they each tell 10 people - that could be 110 sales!
Share about what you’re making, ask for sales, ask friends to recommend you. They want to see you succeed and they are your best champions.
sell your diploma work
Something that people often overlook when they are thinking about the course is that you make jewellery on the course. And once the jewellery you make is assessed and returned to you - YOU CAN SELL IT! So you get to learn new techniques, improve your skills and make precious jewellery that you can sell. What’s not to love?!
spread the cost
Right now we have an 18-month payment plan for all our Diploma courses. This is so you can spread the cost of the course rather than having to pay for it all upfront.
And if you need a toolkit (Diploma in Silver Jewellery only) you can spread the cost of that over 18 months too. And you will then be set up with the tools you need to make most of the jewellery you will make in your career.
We also have materials kits available for the Diploma in Silver Jewellery and the Diploma in Fine Jewellery which can be paid for over 18 months.
And if you’re thinking, I’ll wait and save up and join next year - the tools and materials kits will definitely be increasing in price for 2024/25 as our suppliers have already informed us of their price increases. So join now if the Diploma is for you.
Our 18-month payment plan ends on 10th February 2023 so don’t wait to enrol. Click on the Diploma that’s right for you below, scroll down to the course fees section where you can see the payment options and choose the one that works for you.
I can’t wait to welcome you onto the Diploma program and to be a part of your jewellery journey. I know you can do it
With love,
