Where to promote your jewellery making classes

Blog

Are you looking for ways to get more students attending your jewellery making classes? There are several websites where you can share your workshops, helping you to take bookings and reach a bigger audience.

Having your classes listed on a website dedicated to experiences is a great way to get your lessons in front of a new audience. There are a few sites that you could use, some well established and some newer options.

Craft Courses: You can list your classes on the Craft Courses website, you can set this up so you either approve a booking or have them instantly accepted. Craft Courses handles the booking and the payment and you are paid via BACS after the course has taken place. There are no sign up fees but there is a commission fee taken off the cost of your course, 10% for instant bookings, 12% for booking requests and 4% if you use their widget on your own website. If a student wants to cancel a booking, you can set your cancelation period either with a refund or without a refund.

Students can filter classes based on their area or what they want to learn and there are also gift vouchers available. Find out more.

Air BnB Experiences: With AirBnb, you can submit your classes as experiences, there’s quite a lot of descriptive sections and you’ll need at least 5 photos. You can set a cancellation policy allowing students to cancel and receive a refund. You will also need to verify your ID and phone number. There is a 20% service fee which is deducted from your payout. Your class will then be reviewed by the AirBnb team. Find out more.

Obby: With Obby you can run in person and online classes and also host pre recorded online courses. There are different tiers of pricing and you can pay monthly or yearly. You can get started with a free plan with a 17.5% commission fee, on this plan you can have up to 3 listings and then the paid tiers unlock more features. Your classes will be listed on the Obby Marketplace where users can search through all the listings or if taking a paid plan, you can use their widget to host classes on your own site. Find out more.

Class Bento: Students can search by either location or skill and with each booking, Class Benton makes a donation to Mental Health UK. There is also an option to buy a gift card for a specific class which is valid for 3 years. As a tutor, you can run in person or online classes and there is also an option to sell a craft box kit to go with your online course. For in person classes, you can list specific times or take requests and each booking comes with a 15% commission fee, that’s the only fee. You can also use their widget on your own site with a lower commission fee. Find out more.

You can list on as many of these as you want but will need to keep on top of your bookings, especially if you only have limited numbers per class.

All of the sites take a commission fee which will be higher than any processing fees on your own website but have an audience looking for new crafty opportunities!

Keep the prices the same on your own site and the hosting site, you may need to increase your own prices to allow for the commission fee.
