About Petra Cameron
Petra is originally from Gothenburg, on the west coast in Sweden, but has been living in England since 1998.
Petra has been designing and making jewellery for several years as a hobby. She left full time employment as a busy and well travelled Events Manager for a marketing agency to focus completely on jewellery and Art Clay in 2003.
In 2004 Petra completed her PMC Artisan Certification and Art Clay Senior Certification. Since then Petra has trained many new Art Clay instructors, and has worked hard at introducing metal clay to a wider audience.
Petra was one of the first Aida certified Art Clay Senior Instructors in the UK, trained directly by a Master Instructor from Aida in Japan. She is also a Certified PMC Artisan.
Petra started Metal Clay Ltd (then called Silverclay) in her guest bedroom, with all the stock neatly contained in a bookshelf - that didn't last long, but the good old bookshelf is still in use in the warehouse!
She organised the successful Art Clay World EU Conference at West Dean College in September 2008 - which was at that point the largest metal clay event to take place in Europe with tutors and students from all around the world.
Petra is also the creative force and organiser behind You Can Make It - aresidential metal clay event with a star-studded line-up of tutors and presenters attending from all around the globe, which has run in 2017, 2018, and last in 2020.
