The brand new online course - Foundation in Silver Jewellery is here, specially created for beginners ready to start their journey into jewellery making.
This five-week online fully supported course takes you through some beautiful jewellery projects covering the main techniques that silver and goldsmiths need to master.
But if you’re a beginner you may find it hard to know where to start when it comes to tools and materials. Don’t worry! When you enrol on the Foundation course you have the option of purchasing a tools and/or materials kit that has what you need. Some frequently asked questions
When can I join the course?
Enrolment is now open and the first intake of the course will start on 13th November 2023. We also have intakes starting in January 2024 and March 2024.

When will I receive my kit/s?
If you have ordered the tool and/or materials kit you will be informed via our warehouse when it is on it’s way to you. We have cut off dates for ordering the kits for UK and rest of the world.
Order deadlines
OVERSEAS (not UK) tool and/ or material kit orders is: 18th October 2023
UK: Order on or before 27th October 2023
Please note: these are our recommended kit order dates to send them in time for the start of the course in November and while we hope and expect that they will arrive on time for the start of the course we cannot guarantee it. If your kit does not arrive in time you can enrol on the following Foundation cohort
What if I don’t receive my kit in time to start the course?
We hope that you will receive your kit in time but if not let us know, we can transfer you to the following cohort of the course.
Do I need a jewellers bench/space for making?
No you don’t. You can make jewellery at any sturdy table for example your kitchen table. You will need a benchpeg (included in your toolkit) which you clamp to the table when you are working.
Can I purchase the kit if I’m not doing the course?
No. The kit is available only to those enrolling on the Foundation in Silver Jewellery course.
What is the difference between an open and a closed jump ring?
Jump rings are circles of wire often use for connecting elements of jewellery together. Open jump rings have a cut in the ring to open and close. A closed jump ring is a complete circle of wire.
