Choose your word of the year for 2020

Do you like the idea of new years resolutions but struggle with sticking to them? Why not consider a word or theme for the year instead?

The idea is to choose one word that sums up what you want to achieve in 2020. This is a word you can come back to when you are making decisions to see if it fits in with your word or theme for the year.

How to choose

Think about your hopes and aims for 2020. It could be personally or it could be for your jewellery business (or both!)

Is there just one word or theme you can choose to sum this up?

Here are some words/ideas to get you thinking:

It can be useful to look through the list of words above and see which stick with you. Write down a shortlist of words and then leave it aside for a while and come back to it.

Then pick out one word and think about how it can relate to what you hope for in 2020. Often the right word will have a lot of different meanings for you and will become apparent.

Once you have decided on your word write it down somewhere you can see it everyday. You may even want to create a piece of art with it, buy a postcard with it on or make a piece of jewellery with it on.

In the busyness of day to day like use the word as a touchstone - something to go back and look at regularly to ensure you’re on track and that what you are doing is moving you towards your goals.
