Learn five ways to make embellishments for your metal clay jewellery
Welcome to Episode 31 of the Jewellers Academy Video Podcast! It is wonderful to have you here.
If you make sterling silver or silver metal clay jewellery you can add some wonderful embellishments to your work using silver metal clay (PMC or Art Clay).
It is quick and easy to do and can really help your work to look more advanced and stand out as your own style.
In this video I show you how to make embellishments using:
Moulds
Stencils
Mini cookie cutters
Metal die stamps
Creating mini silver balls to decorate your work
Suitable for all levels of jeweller you can adapt these techniques to really make them your own. Plus all are simple to do from home.
If you work in sterling, you can fire the metal clay pieces and solder them onto your work (be sure to use approx. 4 times more solder than usual as fine silver is porous).
If you work in metal clay you can attach the dry, refined elements to your work with paste or syringe.
