Grow Your Instagram - Join the 'Reel a Week' Challenge for your Jewellery Business

Instagram reels are a great way to promote your jewellery business to new customers, to connect with people and to make sales. Over the next four weeks we challenge you to make and share a reel a week. You can find some free training, support and prompt ideas here to help you get started.

Why Instagram reels?

We are focussing on reels and short video content because it is an effective way to connect with people. The Instagram algorithm continues to share reels with potential customers so it’s a great way of finding new people interested in your jewellery.

Whereas in the past we may have focussed on posting every day, fortunately that is no longer necessary. Having consistent content on your social media is what counts and spending some time each week creating a reel is time well spent. People buy from people they know, like and trust. Sharing on social media is one great way to help foster a relationship with potential customers. And, if you keep going, in a year you will have over 50 reels for your potential customers to watch.

what is the challenge?

The challenge starts on Monday 6th March 2023 and runs for four weeks. We ask you to make and share an Instagram reel per week.

We have some prompt ideas for you:

  • Show Your Process

  • Before and After

  • Design/Inspiration

  • Best Sellers

  • Show Your Workbench

  • Top Tip

  • Packing an Order

  • Favourite Tool

  • Workshop Helpers

  • First Piece You Made and Last Piece You Made

You don’t have to do them all! Pick the ones that appeal to you most. Or create something entirely new.

Remember that a reel does not have to be long. In fact, I suggest keeping it under 30 seconds. You can record the video on your phone and use Instagram to edit it - you don’t need any other video editing apps. And, if you really don’t want to, you don’t have to be in the videos. You could video your hands at work or packing an order. But I do encourage you to work your way up to being on camera yourself. People buy from you and your story - it’s not just about the jewellery itself.

If you are growing more over on TikTok feel free to challenge yourself to share a TikTok a week. If your customers are on Facebook you can still share a video a week over on your FB page or group.

Joining in? let us know

We’d love to see your reels and to share them too! If you are making a reel for this challenge please tag us @jewellersacademy in the caption or comments.

Share your reel in your stories and tag us there too as this is the best way for us to share what you’ve made and ensure people can find and follow you.
