ABOUT CAROL
I’m Carol, owner of Silver Coast Jewellery.
I design and create handmade silver jewellery in my beautiful hometown, St Ives Cornwall.
Before moving to Cornwall I lived in Bristol and was a School Business Manager. Cornwall has a creative culture and the move here sparked my own creative urges and inspired me to pursue jewellery making. It initially started as a hobby but as my passion for making jewellery grew it quickly developed into a small business.
I work mainly with sterling silver, rose gold-filled and metal clay. My jewellery style is simple and versatile to wear all day, every day for any occasion. I use contrasting hammered textures and smooth polished finishes to create a range of jewellery designed to be worn alone or as matching pieces to complement each other.
My main selling outlet used to be a regular twice-weekly craft fair in St Ives with a few online sales from my website. Since the pandemic caused the closure of craft fairs I have concentrated my efforts on selling from my website and have been amazed at the rate my online sales have grown.
I joined Jewellers Academy in September 2018 and the resources and support available have contributed in a major way to developing my making skills and to the growth of my business.
